Do you need a training certificate?
C.R.S. § 18-12-203. Criteria for obtaining a permit.

A training certificate from a handgun training class obtained within the ten years preceding submittal of the application. The applicant shall submit the original training certificate or a photocopy thereof that includes the original signature of the instructor. To the extent permitted by section 18-12-202 (5), in obtaining a training certificate from a handgun training class, the applicant shall have discretion in selecting which handgun training class to complete.

A training certificate from a concealed handgun training class obtained within the one year preceding submittal of the application. The applicant shall submit the original training certificate that includes the printed name and original signature of the verified instructor. To the extent permitted by section 18-12-202.5, in obtaining a training certificate from a concealed handgun training class, the applicant has discretion in selecting which concealed handgun training class to complete.
My Training Course Meets Colorado Requirements

My concealed handgun training class (the 8-hour class) and my concealed handgun refresher class (the 2-hour class) are taught in-person by me, a validated instructor. Until 2029, you will most likely need the 8-hour class.
My course covers the requirements in C.R.S. § 18-12-202.5.(3)(a) to (3)(f). After learning firearms safety, basic pistol, and legal aspects of concealed carry, you will answer 60 questions in an open-book exam.
My live fire test covers the requirements in C.R.S. § 18-12-202.5.(3)(g). You will shoot at least 50 rounds of ammunition, while receiving coaching to help you with qualification.
The certificate you can earn through either my concealed handgun training class (the 8-hour class) or my concealed handgun refresher class (the 2-hour class) is valid for 1 year. Your permit is valid for five years per C.R.S. § 18-12-204.(1)(b).

The following questions are directly from my C.R.S. § 18-12-202.5 compliant, 60-question exam. When I asked my Sheriff if they have an exam for me to administer, I was advised that it is the instructor's responsibility to write their own exam. You will find my written exam to be comprehensive, in full compliance with the new law, and well researched. When we review your exam attempt, I share the references to the applicable Colorado Revised Statutes.
